About This RoleFamily Forum, Inc. is seeking a dedicated, empathetic, and community-minded Child Family Advocate to join our team. If you are passionate about supporting families, breaking down barriers to education, and building lasting community connections, we want to hear from you!
In this role, your focus is entirely on the family. You will serve as a vital bridge between families and their communities, center staff, and program staff—coordinating services, connecting families with vital resources, and promoting meaningful engagement.
Expected start date- 08/17/2026
Part year- August-June
What You'll DoFamily Support & Engagement: Build positive, goal-oriented relationships with families using Motivational Interviewing techniques; help parents/caregivers identify and overcome barriers impacting their child's attendance.
Enrollment & Case Management: Support and facilitate the enrollment of children and families into Head Start Preschool and Early Head Start; conduct regular case management through home and center visits.
Data & Documentation: Gather, aggregate, and analyze family and community data to guide next steps; utilize databases for documentation and accurate data entry.
Compliance & Reporting: Complete tasks effectively within compliance timelines and maintain detailed record-keeping forms according to agency plans.
Collaboration & Community: Build strong connections to community agencies; participate in parent-teacher, teaching team, and supervisory meetings; attend Mental Health and Health Services Advisory Committee meetings.
Safety & Standards: Fully comply with the agency's Standards of Conduct, including strict confidentiality and child guidance standards.
RequirementsEducation & Experience:
- Required: Associate's degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in social work, human services, or a related field.
- Required Experience: Prior experience successfully working with families and navigating community resources.
Certificates & Skills:
- Must possess a current driver's license.
- Commitment to completing 25 hours of continuing education yearly.
- Strong communication, organization, and cultural sensitivity skills, along with experience using Microsoft SharePoint.
Nice To Haves- A current WI Registry account.
- Infant/Pediatric CPR certification.
- Up-to-date certifications (or willingness to obtain/renew) in: OSHA, Civil Rights, Mandated Reporter, and Abusive Head Trauma.
