Colonial Chemical Solutions, Inc. (CCS), a leading independent chemical distributor throughout the United States, focuses on customer service, sustainability, and innovative solutions for our business partners. Colonial Chemical Solutions, Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Colonial Group, Inc.
The Sales Representative is responsible for delivering Volume and Profit Growth through effective execution of a sales strategy in a geographical territory or with an assigned customer base. The sales representative will work to attract and retain business through a deep understanding of Colonial Chemical's products and our customers' needs. The successful employee will be able to identify and develop sales opportunities that best meet these needs.
JOB EXPECTATIONS/DUTIES
  • Evaluate business needs and build productive, consultative sales relationships with customers.
  • Review status of existing accounts and research sales leads by understanding the potential customer base.
  • Maintain a clear and updated view of your sales pipeline and effects of business fluctuations.
  • Responsible for negotiating customer pricing, as well as maintaining and coordinating customer quotations in ERP system.
  • Work effectively with Account Reps and Credit Department to identify customer needs and service requirements along with resolving customer issues.
  • Overall responsibility for individual orders.
  • Forecast sales volumes and customer requirements by analyzing sales data and market trends.
  • Identify developing markets and pursue company initiatives to help maintain competitive edge.
  • Other assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS, REQUIREMENTS and SKILLS
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful previous experience as a field sales representative or sales manager in a chemical or commodities industry.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Word, Dynamics (CRM) and PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization.
  • Proven ability to successfully drive the sales process from start to close.
  • Expert relationship builder both externally and internally.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication, and customer relationship development.
  • Ability to manage time and resources effectively in order to achieve goals.
  • Finely tuned listening skills and a proven ability to solve problems giving ability to close a sale.
  • Ability to present company effectively, recognize customer needs and negotiate appropriate value for products and services offered by Colonial.
  • Ability to travel in the field as required for the position.
  • Produce documentation as needed for the position to include, but not limited to, CRM requirements, customer credit and shipping documentation, expense reports etc.
