Outstanding interpersonal skills, empathy, and strong active listening abilities distinguish successful chaplain interns. These competencies are critical for providing meaningful spiritual support, navigating sensitive situations, and collaborating with diverse staff and populations.

What is a Chaplain Internship job?

A Chaplain Internship is a supervised program designed to provide hands-on experience in spiritual care within hospitals, hospices, prisons, or other institutional settings. Interns support individuals facing emotional, spiritual, or ethical challenges, often through counseling, prayer, and active listening. They work under the guidance of experienced chaplains, gaining practical skills in pastoral care, crisis intervention, and interfaith ministry. The internship may be part of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) or a seminary program, helping candidates fulfill requirements for chaplaincy certification.
