Job description

Position Summary
The Registrar/Scheduler facilitates the patient flow at the clinic providing services necessary to schedule, registers, and greet patients.
Minimum Position Requirements
Work Experience:
  • One (1) year of experience in scheduling or patient access in a hospital or clinical setting.

Education and Training:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Training or educational background with medical terminology and familiarity with ICD-10 coding preferred

License/ Registration/Certification:
  • Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Skills:
  • Ability to deal tactfully with employees, patients, visitors and the general public.
  • Basic computer literacy and keyboarding skills required.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Proficient written and verbal English skills required.
  • Some knowledge of medical terminology and familiarity with ICD9 coding.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills required.
  • Knowledge of commercial and managed care payors and terminology.
  • Ability to work in a fast pace environment with frequent interruptions.
  • Demonstrates ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks and works well under pressure.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish required.
