Overview
NPH is adding a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to serve our patients and leadership team in NeuroPsychiatric Hospital of Indianapolis. The CFO will have oversite and accountability for overall financial operations and day-to-day fiscal management of the hospital. This is a new position due to the growth of our organization!

Responsibilities
  • Ensure completion of timely and accurate monthly financial statements, including monthly operating reports, certifications, disclosures, and forecasts
  • Balance sheet accounts are reconciled on a monthly basis and in compliance with company policies with variances identified and corrected
  • Confirm accounting and business office policies and internal controls are in place for audit with no material adjustments or deficiencies found
  • Prepares annual operating budget and participates in the annual strategic planning process, including ongoing analysis of variances from budget and implementing changes needed to achieve budget goals.
  • Has thorough working knowledge of federal, state and managed care reimbursement methodologies to confirm accuracy of payment to facilities and recorded revenue deductions.
  • Routinely review revenue cycle metrics to identify and address issues affecting overall performance to include: timely collection of accounts receivable, limiting uncompensated care and achieving goals for cash collections and AR days to reduce bad debt and denials.
  • Actively involved in Front End Revenue Cycle processes to include: completed insurance verification on 100% of patients, working with the financial counselors to ensure proper determination of patient portions and, approval of any discounts or charity for logging of upfront collections.
  • Monitors purchases to ensure supply costs are kept to budgeted levels.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Public Health or Clinical Discipline required. Master's degree preferred.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive financial leadership experience in a healthcare setting required, including experience leading hospital or facility-based financial operations (e.g., Director of Finance, Controller, or similar roles).
  • Prior experience sering as a Chief Financial Officer or in a senior finance leadership role preferred.
  • Completion of the NPH CFO-in-Training Program may be considered in lieu of direct CFO experience.
  • Behavioral healthcare experience highly preferred.
  • Must live within market being served.
  • Excellent financial analysis skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with software packages including Excel and Word.
