Certification Engineer

Qualifications

  • Experience – 1 to 8 years
  • 1+ years overall work experience in an engineering role
  • Engineering internships and Co-op assignments may be applied to experience requirements
  • Must possess some knowledge of aircraft certification processes and substantiation techniques
  • Must have strong computer skills and demonstrate proficiency with MS Office programs
  • Must be familiar with aircraft mechanical/structural design processes, materials, fabrication methods and aerospace hardware
  • Must be organized and an effective individual contributor, presenting good communication skills and a professional appearance

Responsibilities

  • Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, conformity inspection plans
  • Develop substantiation reports and test plans / reports for flammability and cabin safety
  • Draft certification presentations for all meetings and manage small ST / PMA projects for certification requirements including data deliverables from suppliers, and coordinating responses to inquiries, significant certification sues and airworthiness concerns
  • Identify applicable airworthiness requirements for proposed major design changes
  • Support the relationship with FAA regulatory agencies via project presentations
  • Interface with customers, suppliers and other project stakeholders pertaining to certification of modification projects
