Job description

Certification Engineer
Primary Function:
The Certification Engineer is responsible for working closely with the Product Engineering team and external certification agencies to obtain the necessary safety and efficiency certification listings for Bradford White Corporation products.
Responsibilities:
  • Independently manage multiple certification projects at once ensuring compliance with all applicable efficiency and safety standards.
  • Evaluate products against national and international technical certification standards.
  • Create agency certification submittals and coordinate testing with internal and external laboratories.
  • Create certification test plans.
  • Provide guidance to the Product Engineering team on certification and listing requirements.
  • Assist in the development of new testing procedures and guidelines to perform routine and non-routine certification procedures.
  • Provide technical briefings on new and existing requirements.
  • Follow established procedures while creating new procedures to ensure consistency, efficiency, and quality for the department.
  • Provide updates to team members on project status and requirements.
  • Perform routine audits of certifications and listings.
  • Lead routine audits of products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Basic mechanical, electrical, or technical mindset and understanding with hands-on experience.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage complex information with a high degree of precision.
  • Proven problem-solving ability, utilizing engineering methodologies.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
  • Ability to comprehend and follow written standards, regulations, and test procedures.
  • Ability to analyze test data and troubleshoot test setups.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Self-motivated with strong time management skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to learn new technical programs and software.
  • Ability to multi-task, take initiative, make decisions, and delegate as needed.
  • Experience with efficiency and safety standards is preferred.
  • Experience in the HVAC or appliance industry is preferred.
