Job description

Northwest Aerospace Technologies (โ€œNATโ€), a Safran Company, is the only EASA DOA Certified aircraft interior reconfiguration group in the United States. Focusing on commercial & military aircrafts, NAT provides first class services in design, engineering, quality, certification, & manufacturing for a variety of Blue-Chip customers.
The Certification Engineer is responsible for ensuring the activities of the certification projects conform to the company quality system procedures and work instructions as documented. The Certification Engineer is responsible to define and coordinate certification requirements internally and with regulatory agencies and customers throughout all phases of projects, and to prepare and maintain high level certification project documents. This individual works closely with the Director of Certification, the Customer, Engineering department, Program Management and Quality Assurance to ensure that the design packages meet the requirements of the FAA and EASA (as applicable).
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of the Certification Engineer include but are not limited to the following:
  • Indirectly responsible for implementation and maintenance of certification department procedures and work instructions.
  • Directly responsible for generation of all project specific certification documentation that is assigned.
  • Reports on the performance of the certification activities for projects, to insure conformity inspections and documentation are planned for and accomplished, and that all project conformity records have been submitted for review and approval.
  • Provides input on project budgets for projects.
  • Coordinates with the Director of Certification and FAA designees (FAA Projects).
  • Coordinates with Office of Airworthiness and EASA designees (EASA Projects).
  • Actively work with the quality assurance disciplines to ensure conformity inspections and documentation are planned for and accomplished, and that all project conformity records have been submitted for review and approval.

Job Requirements:
  • A four-year technical degree or a minimum of 6 years of industry experience in aircraft certification.
  • Strong knowledge of FAA Certification Procedures, FARs, and commercial aviation certification process.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Strong verbal, technical writing, and written communication skills for internal company, customer, and authority interactions.
  • Hardworking, dependable, organized, and self-disciplined.

Working Conditions:
  • Primarily office work with some travel required.
