Senior Certification Engineer Location: Atlanta, GA Employment Type: Contract / Full-Time Job Summary We are seeking a Senior Certification Engineer with experience in aircraft certification, regulatory compliance, and aerospace engineering to support aircraft modification and certification projects. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with FAA certification processes, substantiation activities, and preparation of certification documentation. Responsibilities Develop certification plans, compliance checklists, and conformity inspection plans. Prepare substantiation reports, flammability test plans, cabin safety reports, and certification documentation. Draft certification presentations and support STC/PMA certification projects. Identify applicable FAA airworthiness requirements for aircraft modifications. Coordinate certification activities with suppliers, customers, FAA representatives, and internal engineering teams. Prepare and review certification documents, including PSCPs, test plans, and compliance reports. Support FAA certification activities and resolve certification-related technical issues. Interface with FAA DERs, DARs, and regulatory agencies throughout project execution. Ensure compliance with FAR regulations and applicable aerospace standards. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline. 4โ€“7 years of engineering experience in aerospace, aircraft certification, or related fields. Strong understanding of FAA certification processes and aircraft substantiation techniques. Experience preparing certification documentation, compliance reports, and test plans. Familiarity with aircraft mechanical and structural design, aerospace materials, and manufacturing processes. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications Experience with aircraft interiors certification. Background as a Certification Engineer, Design Engineer, or Substantiation Engineer. Experience supporting STC and PMA certification programs.
