The Archdiocese of St. Louis strives to teach and share our faith, serve others, and foster unity throughout the St. Louis area. ย Once a part of Kenrick-Glennon Seminary's campus, the Cardinal Rigali Center in Shrewsbury, MO is today the headquarters and curia (governing body) for the Archdiocese of St. Louis.

Job Summary

St. Gabriel the Archangel Catholic Church is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Summer Camp Aide to support parish summer programming. This role assists in creating a safe, engaging, and faith-filled environment for children, while supporting camp staff with daily activities, supervision, and operations.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist with supervising campers and ensuring their safety at all times
  • Support the implementation of daily activities, including games, crafts, faith-based programming, and group events
  • Help set up, organize, and clean activity areas and supplies
  • Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Assist with transitions between activities, snack time, and outdoor play
  • Model respectful behavior and encourage teamwork among campers
  • Report any concerns, incidents, or behavioral issues to lead staff
  • Follow all parish policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
  • Support counselors and staff with additional duties as needed
Job Qualifications
  • High school student or graduate preferred
  • Experience working with children in a camp, school, or childcare setting preferred
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Ability to remain active and engaged throughout the camp day
  • Commitment to providing a safe and welcoming environment for children
