Leapros Skilled Trades is actively hiring Security/Structured Cabling Techs in Rayville, LA. The Security/Structured Cabling Technician is responsible for the installation, termination, and commissioning of security systems and low-voltage infrastructure in commercial and data center environments. The ideal candidate possesses a dual skill set in physical security devices and shielded Cat6 cabling, with the ability to interpret complex construction drawings and troubleshoot systems to ensure full functionality.

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $23 to $27 Per Hour BOE

Responsibilities:

  • Install and terminate security devices including Access Control, CCTV, and Intrusion Detection Systems.
  • Perform system commissioning and advanced troubleshooting for security head-end equipment and peripheral devices.
  • Install, label, and terminate shielded Cat6 structured cabling, including jacks and RJ45 connectors.
  • Configure and install rack-mounted patch panels and related cable management systems.
  • Execute fiber optic installation and termination tasks according to project specifications.
  • Utilize Fluke Versiv or similar testing equipment to troubleshoot and certify Cat6 cabling.
  • Read and interpret construction drawings, schematics, and installation details for accurate system placement.
  • Maintain high safety standards within active construction environments and mission-critical facilities.
  • Collaborate with project leadership to ensure installations meet schedule demands and quality benchmarks.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience with security system installations in commercial, industrial, or data center environments.
  • Proficiency in terminating shielded Cat6 cabling and installing rack-mounted equipment.
  • Hands-on experience with fiber optic installation and termination techniques.
  • Technical ability to read and interpret complex construction blueprints and site plans.
  • Familiarity with Data Center environment protocols and standards is highly preferred.
