Job description

JOB TITLE:Low Voltage Technician

GENERAL SUMMARY:Low Voltage Technician will be responsible to install, service, troubleshoot, and maintain low-voltage systems for commercial business. They will have hands-on experience with security cameras, access control systems, structured cabling, and related low-voltage technologies.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Install, program, test, and maintain CCTV/security camera systems.
  • Perform troubleshooting, repairs, and service calls for existing low-voltage systems.
  • Install and terminate low-voltage cabling.
  • Configure and troubleshoot network-connected security devices and NVR/DVR systems.
  • Install access control, intercom, alarm, and related electronic security systems.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Ensure all installations comply with company standards, local codes, and safety regulations.
  • Document work performed, service reports, and customer communications.
  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a professional manner.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Previous experience in low-voltage installation and service is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of CCTV cameras, NVRs, DVRs, and IP-based security systems.
  • Basic understanding of networking concepts, including IP addressing and switches.
  • Ability to use hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., climb ladders, and work in various environments.
