Job description

Our client is a leader in the electrical construction, communication and technology services industry. They have immediate needs for Structured Cable Technicians in Columbus, OH. The Structured Cable Technicians provide assistance with the installation, termination, and testing of various types of voice and data cables as well as security/access control equipment.
Day to Day Duties Include the Following:
• Pulling and routing CAT5 or CAT6 cable in a new construction and existing environments
• Pulling fiber optic cables
• Testing fiber optic cables
• Terminating data jacks
• Installing support structures
• Must be comfortable working from scissor/boom lifts
Job Requirements:
• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency
• Ability to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting, and quality requirements.
• Must know the universal communications color codes.
• Ability to work with others and work independently
• Ability to climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, poles, lift trucks, etc.)
• Ability to work in confined spaces
• Must meet Company minimum driving standards.
Our client will provide on-the-job training in all areas of safety, including tool operation and maintenance.
