The Person County Department of Social Services is seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Income Maintenance Caseworker II to join our team in the Income Maintenance Program. This position will be assigned to either the Medicaid or Food & Nutrition Services (FNS) Unit and plays a vital role in helping individuals and families access essential public assistance programs that support their health, well-being, and financial stability.
As an Income Maintenance Caseworker II, you will work directly with applicants and recipients to determine eligibility for Medicaid or Food & Nutrition Services in accordance with federal, state, and county policies and regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to manage a diverse caseload while ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and confidentiality.

The starting salary will be determined with consideration given to both the candidate's educational background and relevant work experience.
Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record per County policy.
This is a non-exempt position working 37.5 hours weekly/1950 hours annually.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Required Minimum Training:
- One year of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker or as an Eligibility Specialist.
- If the required minimum training is not met, consideration will be for an Income Maintenance Caseworker I working against an Income Maintenance Caseworker II.
Person County conducts pre-employment screening on candidates. Job offers are conditional pending the following:
- A pre-employment drug screen for all candidates. Positions designated by Person County as Safety Sensitive are also subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
- A background check for all candidates. Some positions also require a credit check.
- Additional screening and testing required for some positions.
