Job description

Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide

Pay range for this position is $23.42 - $34.10/hour. Actual pay is based on years of licensure. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

The Licensed Practical Nurse Care Guide is responsible for registering, collecting payments, rooming, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging, and following-up with patients. It is the role of the Care Guide to companion patients and their "secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and maximize the patient experience; before, during, and after the patient visit. The Care Guide is responsible for assisting the provider with front office and back-office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. This role is responsible for a variety of clinical functions within a clinic setting requiring knowledge and integration of available standards, resources, and data; discretion; good judgment; diplomacy; decision making; and a customer service attitude. Acting as the patient advocate, the Care Guide has continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management. Floating to various facilities required based on business need.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Education: High School Diploma/ GED
  • Licensure/ Certification: LPN License American Heart Association (BLS for Health Care Providers) to be completed within 2 weeks of hire date
  • Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to be detail oriented. Knowledge of Epic Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience: 1 year experience in a clinical service. Previous experience with an electronic health record. Experience with injections, minor procedure assistance
