Job Description
Position Summary: LTYC is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Beauty (Fashion/Cosmetology) Instructor to introduce elementary and middle school students to the world of cosmetology, fashion, and personal care. The ideal candidate will inspire students to express themselves through style, grooming, and self-care in a developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and empowering environment. This is an independent contractor position and not an employee role.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and teach engaging lessons inbeginner-friendly beauty topics such as skincare, hairstyling, nail care,fashion design, and grooming.
  • Introduce students to the history and culturalrelevance of beauty and fashion across communities.
  • Promote creativity, self-expression, andconfidence while reinforcing age-appropriate hygiene and personal care.
  • Guide students in hands-on activities like nailart, basic hairstyling, accessorizing, wardrobe styling, and simple sewingor design projects.
  • Emphasize positive self-image, etiquette, andpersonal presentation in a supportive classroom environment.
  • Ensure safe use of all materials and tools; teachbasic sanitation and care procedures.
  • Collaborate with other educators forcross-disciplinary events such as fashion shows, showcases, or careerdays.
  • Maintain an organized and clean instructionalspace.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  • Professional background in cosmetology, fashiondesign, beauty education, or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of prior experience teachingbeauty (fashion/cosmetologyto children, ideally in an elementary ormiddle school setting.
  • Strong classroom management skills and astudent-centered teaching approach.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to adapt lessons for different age groupsand learning styles.
  • Passion for the arts and a commitment tonurturing creativity in young learners.

Additional Requirements:
  • Independent Contractor Agreement: Must be signed upon acceptance.
  • References: Three professional references required, including at least onefrom a previous position working with children.
  • Transportation: Must have reliable transportation to and from school site(s).
  • Certifications:
    • Valid CPR & First Aid certification.
    • Proof of educational background and professionalcertifications (if applicable).
  • Health Clearance:
    • A letter from a physician confirming candidateis in good health, free from communicable diseases (including TB).
  • Background Check:

Must provide a current background check from CJIS (including state, federal, and childcare clearance).
