This position is for a Senior Manager-level Business Development professional within our Emerging Capabilities team for the Connected Battlespace and Emerging Capabilities portfolio. We are responsible for pursuing technology development with DOD Science and Technology (S&T) customers & partners to enable long-term growth across the strategic business unit. The environment is fast paced, technical, and challenging. Candidates should have a thorough understanding of the US DoD S&T requirements, budget, and procurement processes, and be comfortable interacting with DoD subject matter experts in all areas of the acquisition process. This position will focus on communications in denied, degraded, intermittent, and limited (DDIL) environments to include software defined radios, waveforms, antennas/apertures, and system-level integration to enable resilient operations in contested environments. Knowledge of AI integration into resilient communications and connectivity is beneficial.
This position is coined as Hybrid reporting out of either location: Dulles, VA or Cedar Rapids, Iowa. We will consider remote option for exceptional candidates.
What You Will Do
  • The successful candidate will lead cross-functional teams to develop strategies and implement actions that culminate in a pipeline of qualified opportunities that position Collins to win
  • Develop multi-level contact plans for assigned customer segment
  • Establish and maintain relationships with internal and external customers
  • Analyze customer information and develop important customer requirements, key performance parameters, and opportunity price-to-win
  • Develop relationships with key customers; influence customer planning and clearly articulate customer needs to business leadership. Understand competitive landscape and implications to inform capture efforts and color team reviews
  • Work on problems of multiple scopes where analysis of situations or data requires a review of multiple factors. Demonstrates good judgment in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions, where erroneous decisions or failure to achieve objectives would have a serious impact on the organization
  • Develop and brief compelling strategic and business growth opportunities to include market and competitive analysis via decision gate reviews
  • Create, analyze and articulate innovative solutions to problems that leverage Collins technologies to obtain the most efficient and effective use of company investments and align with product roadmap strategies
  • Travel up to 30% may be required

Qualifications You Must Have
  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 10 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years of experience
  • Active and transferable U.S. government issued Secret Security Clearance is required prior to start date
  • Experience/Knowledge of U.S. military CONOPs related to multi-domain sensing and networking for communications, guidance and navigation systems
  • Experience in DoD acquisitions related to 6.2-6.4 funding
  • Experience/Knowledge of communications in DDIL environments

Qualifications We Prefer
  • Active U.S. Top Secret or TS/SCI Security Clearance Preferred on Day 1
  • Direct experience working with DOD S&T communities as a US government employee or contractor
  • Salesforce CRM tool experience

The salary range for this role is 132,400 USD - 251,600 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
Hired applicants may be eligible for benefits, including but not limited to, medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k) match, flexible spending accounts, flexible work schedules, employee assistance program, Employee Scholar Program, parental leave, paid time off, and holidays.
