Join our team as a Sales Development Manager today!
As the world's leading provider of process control equipment, we design, manufacture, install and service Fisher control valves and instrumentation across multiple industries including chemical, oil & gas, refining, power, pulp & paper, metals & mining, hydrogen, sustainable, and many other facilities around the world.
What is a Sales Development Manager at Emerson:
Sales Development Managers join our fast-paced Global Industry Sales team as the factory sales lead managing our strategic relationship with key power customers, EPCs and OEMs globally including HRSG and gas turbines.
In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
  • Develop relationships with strategic power customers, EPCs and OEMs to capture incremental spend
  • Create global sales strategies through cross world area and sales channel collaboration leading to Flow Controls success
  • Identify customer team members and deploy appropriate sales strategies including introduction of new Fisher technology
  • Gather and analyze specifications and requirements with a focus on areas Flow Control products and services can provide significant differentiation and value
  • Drive opex spend through competitive displacement, obsolescence programs and solution upgrades
  • Expand our ease of doing business through creation of solution packages, customer dashboards, and supplier of first choice agreements.
  • Gain visibility to the customer power project funnel and set us up for success in capturing the power project wave through enhanced pursuit strategies
  • Provide sales reporting to senior leadership on sales volume, health of accounts, growth opportunities and needs from the greater organization
  • Coordinate development of appropriate Marcom, social media and other sales tools to facilitate and accelerate global adoption of our solutions
  • Ensure adequate sales coverage globally (AP and EU) and find unique ways to support
  • Find gaps or white space in product offerings and certifications based on comprehensive evaluation of the process. Define the market opportunity that can be realized by addressing these gaps.
  • Represent Flow Controls at internal and external technical exchanges and account reviews

  • Someone who quickly take actions in fact-changing, unexpected situations. Establish common objectives and a shared mentality. Enjoy dynamic working environments and team collaboration. Comfortable communicating directly with customers' technical departments and procurement. Ability to adjust communication style to meet the needs of diverse collaborators.

For This Role, You Will Need:
  • Degree in Engineering or 5+ years technical sales experience
  • 3+ years experience as a sales/application engineer
  • Hands on experience with control valve sizing and selection
  • Experience working with global customers
  • Understanding of customer specifications and how to influence with Fisher technology
  • Strong communication skills and business insight
  • Open to travel
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States - Sponsorship will not be provided for this position

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
  • Demonstrated experience as a Sales / Application Engineer in Global Industry Sales
  • Knowledge of power and steam applications, specifications and valve solutions
  • Experience leading by influence
