Job Overview

The Regional Business Development Manager role is responsible for developing and executing strategic business initiatives across the Latin American region, for the mining Surface Haulage Business Unit. This role plays a critical part in expanding Komatsu's market presence, driving sustainable revenue growth, increasing market share, and enhancing profitability. The Regional Business Development Manager will lead high-level engagements with distributors and support customer engagement, ensuring alignment with Komatsu's regional and global business objectives.

Success in this role requires an understanding of Latin American mining markets, relationship management capabilities, and the ability to drive cross-functional collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • With distribution partners, develop commercial strategies and execution plans across Latin America, ensuring alignment with overall business goals related to revenue, market share, and pricing strategy.
  • Build and sustain strong partnerships with Komatsu's Latin American subsidiaries and distributor networks to drive high performance and ensure regional market success.
  • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to identify and capture growth opportunities across diverse markets within Latin America.
  • Collaborate with engineering, product management, commercial controls, parallel business units and marketing teams to ensure offerings are tailored to regional needs and market dynamics.
  • Monitor competitive activity, economic trends, and emerging market opportunities to proactively adjust strategies and maintain competitive advantage.
  • Provide regular executive reporting on commercial performance, customer initiatives, and market conditions to senior leadership.
  • Ensure governance and performance oversight through structured business reviews and regular engagement with key partners.
Qualifications/Requirements
  • Live in or be willing to relocate to Peoria, Illinois, USA.
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Business, Marketing, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of progressive experience in regional sales leadership, preferably within the mining, construction, or manufacturing sectors.
  • Demonstrated success in managing complex sales channels and distributor networks across multiple countries, preferably in Latin America.
  • Strong executive presence, communication, and negotiation skills with fluency in English.
  • Proven ability to drive commercial performance and build strategic relationships.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to USA operations and throughout Latin American region (up to 70%).

Hiring Range

At Komatsu, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. This role pays $130,000 - $150,000. The actual offer will consider a wide range of factors, including experience and location.
