McGarity Consulting Group is a Chicago-based learning and organizational development consultancy with 11 years of experience delivering custom learning solutions across regulated, compliance-intensive, and technically complex environments. We are a WBENC women-owned and NMSDC minority-owned business serving clients across healthcare, energy, financial services, insurance, and professional services.
The Opportunity McGarity is expanding its bench of experienced Learning Project Managers to support growing client demand. This is a contract position for a seasoned L&D professional who thrives in a fast-moving consultancy environment, can manage multiple concurrent projects across diverse client engagements, and understands the full e-learning development lifecycle from kickoff through LMS deployment.
What You Will Do

  • Manage end-to-end project lifecycles for custom e-learning development engagements from kickoff through final delivery
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, milestone schedules, and risk logs
  • Coordinate across instructional designers, multimedia developers, SMEs, and client stakeholders to keep projects on track
  • Facilitate kickoff meetings, milestone reviews, and client status updates
  • Track deliverable quality, review cycles, and client approval status across multiple concurrent projects
  • Identify and escalate timeline risks proactively with mitigation recommendations
  • Manage client expectations and maintain clear, professional communication throughout each engagement
  • Support LMS deployment coordination including SCORM upload, testing, and completion tracking confirmation
  • Maintain version-controlled project documentation and deliverable records
Required Qualifications

  • 6+ years of project management experience within a learning and development or instructional design environment required
  • Demonstrated experience managing the full e-learning development lifecycle (analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation)
  • Working knowledge of Articulate Storyline 360 or comparable authoring tools must be able to speak the language of the development team
  • Familiarity with ADDIE, SAT, or Agile instructional design methodology
  • Experience with SCORM standards and LMS deployment processes
  • Strong command of project management tools (Smartsheet, Asana, Microsoft Project, or equivalent)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills client-facing experience required
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects across different clients and industries
Preferred Qualifications

  • PMP, Prosci, or equivalent project management certification
  • Experience in a consultancy or agency environment managing external client relationships
  • Background in healthcare, compliance, or regulated-environment training projects
  • Familiarity with Section 508 and WCAG accessibility requirements
  • Experience with xAPI or SCORM 2004 reporting and LMS analytics
  • Knowledge of Kirkpatrick evaluation methodology
