Job description

Primary Purpose:

Ensure safety on the school campus.

Qualifications:

Education/Certification:
High school diploma or GED
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Ability to work with students and teachers effectively
Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
Ability to use interpersonal skills with tact, patience, and courtesy
Basic interests, attitudes and emotional development of students
Ability to use personal computer
Experience:
Previous security experience preferred.










Major Responsibilities and Duties:

1. Work with administrators to maintain an orderly and safe school environment.
2. Continuously monitor the internal and external parameters of the school campus.
3. Meet buses in the morning to ensure student safety.
4. Assist in conducting metal detector checks.
5. Identify and greet visitors on the school campus to ensure they signed-in properly.
6. Monitor for intruders that would threaten the safety of the school campus.
7. Monitor and if necessary intervene to ensure appropriate student behavior with school rules.
8. Monitor and report school graffiti, report maintenance and safety hazard; photograph graffiti and vandalism as required.
9. Observe students during passing periods between classes.
10. Assure student compliance with school and district rules and policies.
11. Learn, interpret, apply and explain rules, policies and procedures.
12. Understand and follow oral and written directives.
13. Observe situations and accurately determine an effective course of action.
14. Operate walkie-talkie as required.
