Position Title: Security Monitor
Reports To: Administrator
Summary of the Job:
The Security Monitor is responsible for performing continual supervision of grounds and facilities in order to ensure the safety of clients and staff. The Security Monitor provides regular monitoring of facilities and program grounds. The Security Monitor should be committed to Sanctuary practice utilizing tools that reinforce our shared language to create a trauma-responsive culture.
Primary Responsibilities:
  1. Inspect and perform routine observation of grounds and facilities to ensure buildings are secure and no unknown persons are allowed onto campus premises.
  2. Regular rounds are completed in intervals or as assigned.
  3. As appropriate, operate and observe security monitors to ensure no unpermitted entrance or egress from buildings within the assigned program.
  4. Coordinate with Administrator and front office to ensure an accurate list of approved staff and visitors is available.
  5. Communicate clearly and immediately all safety concerns with Administrator or designated on-call staff.
  6. Provide clear documentation and reports for each shift.
  7. Utilize personal safety plan for managing emotions and interactions with staff and clients.
  8. Maintain training in crisis de-escalation and provide back-up support to Youth and Family Care Workers.
  9. Communicate to Support Services any noted grounds or facility safety concerns through MaintainX.
  10. Be available to provide escort to staff during shift transition.
  11. Represent agency favorably at all times.
  12. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications:
  1. At least 21 years old.
  2. High school diploma or GED and two or more years of full-time paid experience previously required to perform tasks assigned or successful completion of a formal training curriculum from a technical college or school pertaining to skills need to perform tasks assigned.
  3. Adequate training or experience to demonstrate knowledge and skills necessary to perform duties assigned.
  4. Physical health to perform tasks assigned, occasionally lift/carry parcels up to 50 pounds.
  5. Should be able to follow oral and written instructions.
  6. Display the motivation and desire to learn and develop advanced skills.

  • Agree to abide by all the policies, rules, guidelines and regulations of the Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc.
  • Exhibit tactfulness and good judgment in dealing with people.
  • Familiar with traditional Baptist tenets, customs and practices and shall maintain a compatible lifestyle.
  • Meet all employee guidelines and qualifications as outlined by GBCH & FM, license, contracts, and accreditation.
  • Exhibit the Core Values of Georgia Baptist Children's Homes and Family Ministries, Inc.
  • Utilize the Sanctuary Model of Care and conduct job responsibilities in a traumaresponsive manner.
  • Have the ability to work in partnership with other members in a team approach.
  • Arrive to work on time and as scheduled.
  • Achieve and accomplish annual goals assigned by supervisor or provide acceptable documentation as to why goals were not met.
  • Understanding of confidential issues and protected information assigned under HIPAA.
  • Complete required staff development hours within the program including 24 hours in childcare related training, current CPR, 1st Aid and approved emergency safety intervention training.
