Overview
Leads the strategy, architecture, and execution of marketing automation, technology, and data systems that power customer engagement across the marketing organization. Owns the evolution of the marketing automation platforms, AI-driven solutions, and system integrations, to enable scalable, efficient, and personalized customer experiences.
Partners cross-functionally with Marketing, Sales/Revenue Operations, IT, DAAI, and Analytics teams to design and operationalize end-to end marketing processes, ensuring data integrity, system reliability, and continuous innovation. Leads a team of technical marketing professionals responsible for automation, campaign enablement, and platform development while shaping the future direction of marketing operations.
Responsibilities
Marketing Automation & Demand Infrastructure
  • Own and oversee the execution and evolution of marketing automation programs within Marketo, ensuring alignment with business objectives and scalable support for campaigns, service communications, and demand generation initiatives
  • Provide governance and direction for all inbound marketing processes, including lead capture, validation, scoring, routing, and lifecycle management, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with Sales
  • Lead the design and continuous optimization of marketing programs and frameworks (including nurture strategies, webinars, newsletters, and multi-touch campaigns), ensuring high-quality execution, performance, and measurable outcomes
  • Direct and guide team members responsible for campaign execution, program management, and operational delivery, establishing standards for QA, program structure, documentation, and ongoing process improvement

AI & Automation Enablement
  • Drive adoption of AI-enabled marketing solutions and automation frameworks
  • Partner with enterprise AI teams to align on standards and architecture
  • Identify and scale automation opportunities across workflows, reporting, etc.

Customer Lifecycle & Journey Orchestration
  • Design and govern lead lifecycle, scoring, and routing models
  • Enable multi-touch, omnichannel customer journeys
  • Ensure alignment between marketing, sales, and service communications

Operational Excellence & Governance
  • Establish governance models for lead flow, campaign execution, and data inputs
  • Develop intake processes and prioritization frameworks
  • Ensure system reliability, QA standards, and incident response processes

Campaign Enablement & Execution Support
  • Enable marketing teams to efficiently execute campaigns through scalable systems
  • Develop reusable templates and automation patterns
  • Improve speed and quality of campaign deployment

Team Leadership & Development
  • Lead and develop a team of marketing automation and technical professionals
  • Evolve team capabilities toward engineering, data, and AI skillsets
  • Recruits, selects, hires, and evaluates performance of employees to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Coaches and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs, and other resources to ensure continued technical and professional development.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Data, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • MBA - Preferred
  • 7+ years in marketing automation, marketing technology, or operations
  • 2+ years in marketing automation platforms (Marketo, Salesforce, etc.)
  • 2+ years in practical AI applications for Business
  • 2+ years in data integration, APIs, and data platforms
  • 2+ years in leading cross-functional initiatives and technical teams
  • 2+ years in evaluating and managing marketing technology vendors

Compensation
In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $87,627.27 - $137,700.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
