Job description

Position Summary
Storr is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our Flooring team as a Flooring Sales Associate. This role is designed for someone interested in building a long-term career in commercial flooring sales, estimating, and project management.
In this position, you will support the flooring sales team with customer interactions, estimating assistance, project coordination, and day-to-day sales activities while developing the technical and relationship-building skills needed to transition into an Account Manager role. The ideal candidate enjoys a fast-paced environment, problem-solving, client interaction, and learning the commercial interiors industry from the ground up.
This role provides hands-on exposure to commercial flooring projects, estimating software, customer solutions, and workplace project execution.
Key Responsibilities
Sales & Client Support
  • Assist the Flooring Sales team with daily customer and project activities
  • Meet with prospective and existing customers to understand project needs and recommend solutions
  • Prepare quotes and proposals for smaller project opportunities while supporting larger opportunities alongside senior team members
  • Maintain customer communication throughout the sales and project process
  • Track sales activity and project updates within the CRM system
Estimating & Project Coordination
  • Support the estimating team by learning material takeoffs and flooring calculations
  • Assist in preparing estimates for flooring materials and project requirements
  • Learn and provide backup support for the primary estimator
  • Coordinate project details with customers, vendors, and internal teams
  • Visit active job sites periodically to monitor progress and support project execution
  • Address project challenges proactively and help resolve issues quickly and professionally
Product & Technical Development
  • Research flooring products, finishes, and vendor solutions
  • Assist with presentations, mock-ups, bid responses, and proposal preparation
  • Gather vendor information and coordinate pricing/details as needed
  • Complete assigned training and develop consultative selling skills
  • Build knowledge of Storr's products, services, systems, and operational processes
  • Work toward transitioning into an Account Manager role within approximately 18 months
Qualifications & Skills
  • Experience or interest in commercial flooring, interiors, construction, estimating, or project coordination preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret AutoCAD drawings
  • Experience with Hedberg software preferred but not required
  • Ability to learn estimating platforms such as Callidus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities
  • Comfortable working in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to discuss pricing, budgets, margins, and contracts professionally
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Problem-solving mindset with strong attention to detail
  • Enjoys working directly with clients and building relationships
