Job description

Are you ready to be part of something bigger? Step into a vital role in one of the most essential industries in America — beef processing. We're hiring motivated, experienced individuals to join our Harvest or Fabrication team at our Decatur, IN beef processing facility.

This is not a grocery store butcher job — this is real, hands-on work at the start of the meat supply chain, where skilled professionals ensure safe, quality processing from the moment livestock arrives.

LIVESTOCK HARVEST

  • Safely and skillfully perform unloading and handling of livestock, livestock harvest and carcass dressing.
  • Participate in customer/animal/carcass identification procedures as part of the facility’s inventory tracking and traceability procedures.
  • Safely and skillfully lead sanitation practices associated with the facility’s Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures.

MEAT PROCESSING

  • Participate in fresh meat processing and carcass fabrication
  • Use knives and saws to portion, trim, and prepare beef products
  • Perform meat cutting and packaging tasks as required, ensuring adherence to company standards.
  • Help maintain accurate inventory of products and materials

FACILITY OPERATIONS

  • Conduct routine checks on equipment to ensure functionality
  • Keep the facility clean and compliant with USDA and internal standards
  • Comply with all USDA regulations regarding ante-mortem, post-mortem and product inspections.
  • Maintain compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point) guidelines and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) regulations.
  • Cooperate with inspectors and regulatory agencies

  • 3–5 years of harvest or meat processing experience preferred
  • Skilled in knife and saw use
  • Ability to follow procedures, work independently, and support a team
  • Attention to detail and strong time management
