The Department of Business at Wheeling University is seeking qualified applicants for an Adjunct Instructor in Business Technology for the Fall 2026 semester. This applicant will teach the undergraduate-level business courses Introduction to Machine Learning in Business Technology & Generative AI Applications for Business Technology. Courses may be offered in face-to-face, hybrid, or online formats, depending on departmental needs.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate courses in Business Technology.
  • Develop and maintain course materials, syllabi, and instructional resources.
  • Maintain accurate student records, including attendance and grading in Canvas.
  • Conduct end-of-semester assessments and participate in course and faculty evaluations.
  • Support student engagement and academic success.

  • Doctorate or master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field, with appropriate graduate credit hours in the teaching discipline.
  • Professional experience in a relevant industry area.
  • Demonstrated expertise in machine learning and/or generative AI applications

Preferred Qualifications
  • Ph.D. or D.Sc. in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
  • College-level teaching experience.
  • Industry certifications (e.g., AI, cybersecurity, data science, or cloud technologies).
  • Experience using learning management systems (Canvas)
