Physical Demands:
Able to traverse campus and classrooms; able to see, hear, and talk; able to drive to off-campus locations
Job Summary/Basic Function:
Brazosport College, a two-time Top 10 finalist for the Aspen Prize for Community College Excellence and Achieving the Dream Leader College, seeks a dynamic and innovative Computer Technology Faculty member for a nine-month, non-tenure track position.
Job duties include but are not limited to:
  • Reports to the Dean, Business, Technology and Online Programs.
  • Prepares curriculum, including writing syllabi, developing new courses, selecting textbooks, etc.
  • Develops and teaches computer technology classes using traditional and alternative delivery methods.
  • Assists in the advisement of students.
  • Serves on various assigned college committees.
  • Summer teaching opportunities as enrollment dictates.
  • Supports the college's student success initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Technology, Cybersecurity & AI, Management Information Systems, or a closely related area from a regionally accredited college plus 18 graduate credit hours in a one of the fields above.
  • Interest in alternative instructional delivery methods; including face-to-face, online, or hybrid
  • Demonstrated ability in working with a culturally diverse population;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Other qualities, experiences, and skills that enhance one's value to the institution;
  • Proficiency in reading, writing, and explaining code.
  • Exceptional employment or educational qualifications may be given special consideration as long as Southern Association (SACS) minimum educational credentials are met.
  • Teaching experience in Computer Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, AI, or Business Data Analytics at the community college level.

Desirable Qualifications:
  • Doctoral Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information System Technology, Cybersecurity and AI, Management Information Systems, or a closely related area from a regionally accredited college
  • Three (3) years of non-teaching, wage-earning experience in a computer field.
  • Teaching experience in Computer Science and Technology, Management Information Systems, Cybersecurity, AI, or Business Data Analytics at the community college level.
