Job description

Job Summary:
Fairview Health Services is seeking a Program Manager for their Learning Health System and IT Research. This role is responsible for managing a portfolio of services related to research, data, and technology solutions while ensuring compliance with protocols and integrating emerging technologies into research practices.
Responsibilities:
• Create, expand, and manage technology and data services in support of research activities in IT and the learning health system.
• Ensure compliance with research protocols, best data practices and take ownership of the necessary documentation (design, test plan, implementation plan, etc.)
• Integrate emerging technologies with research practices including advancing analytics, AI maturity, digital technology solutions, evidence-based care and other innovation.
• Establish a community of learning connected closely with UMN and M Health Fairview teams and structures.
• Provide pre-grant and post-grant support within IT in collaboration with LHS and other research leadership, Fairview research administration and other appropriate functions.
• Track milestones and program metrics to demonstrate program value and maturity.
• Continuously maintain, enrich, and prioritize the product backlog to ensure the team constantly implements those items which add the greatest value to the business, customers, users, and patients.
• Project manage and take ownership of individual research project technology implementations or direct project managers in various workstreams, including formalizing feature roadmaps and implementing releases
• Lead the planning of product releases and manage expectations regarding timelines and functionality.
• Take an active role in mitigating impediments which interfere with the delivery of product value.
• Support defining minimum viable product (MVP) and effectively negotiating tradeoffs of conflicting priorities based on value to the business and customer.
• Follow processes of the portfolio management office. As needed, project manage individual research project technology implementations or direct project managers in various workstreams.
• Ensure financials are tracked for projects and the greater program using a services framework.
• Bring together the broader Research IT and the LHS Program into appropriate view(s) for various stakeholders.
• Manage and work with IT teams, care teams, and researchers to enable LHS research work across infrastructure, informatics, data, analytics, and applications.
• Connect program with the larger research and learning health system initiatives including Evidence-Based Medicine and Optimal Care programs and initiatives with CTSI and Office of the Chief Academic Officer including Fairview research administration to ensure the product aligns to our company portfolio and vision.
Qualifications:
Required:
• B.S./B.A. in business, technology or related field or an equivalent combination of experience, education, and training
• 5 years managing programs with at least 7-10 years managing large, complex projects
• 5+ years of experience in research setting with familiarity of the research cycle.
• Intermediate or expert knowledge of HIPAA, research compliance, and security.
• Significant information technology expertise and experience.
• Strong quantitative and analytic skills.
• Ability to think creatively and work collaboratively to address problems.
• Knowledgeable in program management methodologies, performance evaluation and change management principles
• Experience compiling and following strict budgets
• Demonstrated ability to communicate the big picture or vision to everyone consistently
• Demonstrated ability to negotiate and resolve challenges
• Ability to create roadmap of outcomes across projects, set realistic goals and timelines
• Demonstrated ability to work with multiple stakeholders and navigate diverse perspectives
• Ability to foster work culture and relationships among project teams to sustain program outcomes over the long-term
Preferred:
• Master of Healthcare Administration, Master of Business Administration, or equivalent experience
• Experience in healthcare or with data technology or analytics.
• License/Certification/Registration - Program or project management certification
