At over 50 years old and counting, B&H has built a reputation as the trusted resource for photography and videography enthusiasts via its NYC SuperStore and its award-winning website. Long known as "The Professional’s Source", B&H is recognized by savvy consumers worldwide for its honest, knowledgeable guidance, expert tips and articles… and always-great prices.
B&H offers competitive salaries, medical benefits, a 401K plan, employee discounts and opportunities to grow within a high-energy, low-attitude environment. Make your move to B&H today!

About the Role

B&H is building a Business Optimization team focused on improving how we operate so we can deliver more, faster, and better for our customers.

We are hiring senior individual contributors to identify what’s getting in the way of execution today and lead the work to fix it. This role is about removing friction, simplifying complexity, and designing processes and operating models that enable teams to move with greater speed, clarity, and consistency.

You will work across departments to diagnose issues, design practical solutions, and lead transformation initiatives that make it easier for the business to execute and achieve better outcomes.

This is a highly visible role with significant impact on how B&H evolves. We are intentionally building a team that blends deep internal knowledge with external perspective from more mature or scaled environments.

What You’ll Do

  • Uncover friction and inefficiencies: Identify what’s slowing teams down, creating confusion, or leading to inconsistent outcomes across the business
  • Define problems with clarity: Take ambiguous challenges and break them into structured, actionable components
  • Simplify and improve processes: Redesign workflows, decision rights, and operating models to make execution easier, faster, and more reliable
  • Design practical solutions: Apply proven business frameworks and best practices while tailoring solutions to fit B&H’s reality
  • Lead cross-functional transformation: Own initiatives end-to-end—from problem definition through implementation and adoption
  • Enable faster execution: Remove blockers, streamline handoffs, and improve coordination across teams
  • Drive alignment and adoption: Bring stakeholders along by clearly communicating problems, solutions, and benefits
  • Leverage data to improve outcomes: Use data to diagnose issues, prioritise opportunities, and measure impact
  • Raise how we operate: Help introduce and institutionalize more consistent, scalable ways of working across the organization

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience:
  • 8–12+ years in management consulting, business operations, strategy, or transformation roles
  • Track record of improving business performance through process, operating model, or organizational changes
  • Experience in mature or scaled environments, with the ability to bring those learnings into a growing organization
  • Problem Solving & Structure:
  • Strong, structured thinker who can quickly make sense of complex, ambiguous situations
  • Comfortable diagnosing root causes—not just symptoms
  • Familiar with business frameworks (process optimization, operating models, KPI design, etc.)
  • Execution & Ownership:
  • Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end and drive tangible outcomes
  • Strong program management skills with a focus on delivering results, not just recommendations
  • Can Establish enterprise-wide operating rhythms that reinforce accountability, transparency, and rapid decision-making that sustain “beyond the project”
  • Communication & Influence:
  • Exceptional communicator who can clearly articulate problems and solutions
  • Able to build trusted relationships with all levels to influence direction, resolve organizational friction, and accelerate alignment
  • Skilled at bringing people along through change
  • Data Fluency:
  • Comfortable using data to inform decisions and measure success
  • Able to translate analysis into clear, actionable insights
  • Mindset:
  • Pragmatic and action-oriented—you focus on what works, not just what’s ideal
  • Obsessed with making things simpler and more effective
  • High ownership and accountability
  • Willing to challenge the status quo thoughtfully and constructively
  • Collaborative and low-ego, with a focus on outcomes over credit

Why This Role Matters

This team exists to make B&H easier to run—and more effective at serving our customers.

By removing friction, improving processes, and enabling faster, better decision-making, this role directly contributes to our ability to deliver at scale. The impact is broad, tangible, and foundational to how the company grows.

We are an Equal Opportunity Employer. All persons shall have the opportunity to be considered for employment without regard to their race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry, alienage or citizenship status, age, disability or handicap, sex or gender, marital status, veteran status, sexual orientation, arrest record, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local laws.
We will endeavor to make a reasonable accommodation to the known physical or mental limitations of a qualified applicant with a disability unless the accommodation would impose an undue hardship on the operation of our business.
