Job description

Job Summary 

The New Business Executive administers the creation, development and presentation of the Conner Strong & Buckelew Consultative Review (CSCR), in addition to providing support in the marketing of new business opportunities; obtaining quotations and assisting in the preparation of Submissions, Proposals and Binders.

Principal Responsibilities 

  • Review and analyze insurance policies for deficiencies compared to current exposures of a Prospect's insurance program.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of an Insured or Prospect's business operations and the insurance policies necessary to best protect the assets of the corporation and the owners of the business.
  • Creation of customized CSCR for all lines of coverage.
  • Development and maintenance of Standard CSCR Power Point slides to be used for all lines of coverage, as needed.
  • Prepare detailed comparison of the Named Insureds versus existing entities.
  • Assist the Business Development Producer (BDP) in compiling and gathering the necessary information required for an underwriting submission.
  • Using the Standard Documents created for Conner Strong & Buckelew, create the exposure schedules needed to send to the markets with the Underwriting Submission.
  • Analyze loss runs and other loss information provided to produce Loss Summaries, Schedules of Large Losses and Deductible analysis for marketing purposes and other loss forecasting.
  • In conjunction with the Marketing Executive, negotiate terms and conditions with insurance carriers on extensive lines of coverage as needed. Understanding of the markets and their capabilities and appetites needed.
  • Prepare New Business Proposals using approved Standard Documents.
  • Promote teamwork and commitment to department/corporate goals.

Other Functions

  • Attend new business and prospect presentations when appropriate. 
  • Review and analyze contracts and agreements for deficiencies to address in the CSCR.
  • Review and analyze financial documents for discussion in the CSCR.
  • Organize information received for preparation of CSCR.
  • Is a technical resource for other Conner Strong & Buckelew team members.
  • Attend carrier capabilities meetings.
  • Administers coverage analysis for creation of standard Coverage Summaries.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Oversee accuracy of data in ImageRight.

Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree (Business or Risk Management preferred).
  • Four Years Practical Experience at minimum 
  • Advanced proficiency in policy wording, terms and conditions, and coverage summaries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products; Power Point, Excel and Word required.
  • Ability to work within an agency management system with training.
  • Self-starter, flexible, and able to multitask with minimal supervision.
  • Strong problem solving, interpersonal, analytical, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.
  • Ability to work in an ever changing high pressure organization/environment.
  • Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without Company sponsorship. 

Compensation:

Salary for this position ranges from $100,000.00 - $145,000.00. The base pay offered will be determined on factors such as experience, skills, training, location, certifications, and education. Decisions will be determined on a case-by-case basis. In addition to the base salary, this position may be eligible for performance-based incentives.

Qualifying positions will also be eligible for comprehensive benefits, such as participation in family medical and dental insurance programs, 401K plan, and PTO.

Specialized Knowledge or Licenses

Resident State Insurance Producer License and other Non-Resident State Producer Licenses (PA, NJ, MD, DE, NY) 

Working Conditions 

Office environment with moderate noise level; able to work flexible hours and travel to other Conner Strong offices and client work sites as needed.
