Position Summary:
The Business Relationship Manager (BRM) acquires new business relationships with a primary focus on deposit acquisition, Municipal amp; Public Funds, nonprofit banking, and Treasury Management services while driving the expansion and retention of existing business relationships. The BRM develops and executes relationship management strategies that grow deposits, Treasury Management services, and overall business relationships through a consultative, relationship-focused sales approach. This role is responsible for achieving individual production goals for deposit growth, Business Member acquisition, and cross-line-of-business referrals. The position acts in compliance with all Credit Union policies, procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal banking regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development

  • Maintain and grow a profitable portfolio of commercial business relationships throughout Achieva Credit Union’s Northern Market through disciplined and proactive business development focused on commercial deposit acquisition, Treasury Management services, relationship expansion, and member retention.
  • Develop new business relationships with commercial businesses, municipalities, public entities, nonprofit organizations, and other target organizations throughout Pasco and Pinellas Counties.
  • Focus on Achieva Credit Union’s target Business Member profile by understanding financial needs and delivering consultative solutions that include deposits, Treasury Management, Municipal amp; Public Funds, and other business banking services.
  • Serve as Achieva Credit Union’s subject matter expert for commercial deposits, Municipal amp; Public Funds, nonprofit banking, and Treasury Management solutions.
  • Develop and maintain a strong pipeline of prospective Business Members through networking, referrals, Centers of Influence, community involvement, and strategic prospecting activities.
  • Participate in community events and networking activities to strengthen Achieva Credit Union’s presence while developing relationships with CPAs, attorneys, commercial real estate professionals, municipal leaders, nonprofit executives, and other Centers of Influence.
  • Collaborate with Treasury Management, Commercial Lending, Retail Banking, Branch teams, and Senior Management to deliver comprehensive business banking solutions and an exceptional Business Member experience.
  • Identify opportunities to deepen relationships through commercial deposits, Treasury Management, Commercial Lending, merchant services, and other business banking products while achieving established production goals.
  • Serve as the primary relationship manager for assigned Business Members by conducting ongoing relationship reviews, coordinating internal resources, and executing strategies that support acquisition, retention, and relationship expansion.
  • Maintain expertise in business account opening requirements, Municipal amp; Public Funds regulations, and all applicable compliance requirements, ensuring business relationships are established and maintained in accordance with Credit Union policies and regulatory standards.

  • Take initiative to perform other essential functions as needed to support departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Travel throughout Achieva Credit Union’s territory as required.
  • Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet Business Member and business development demands.

Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.
  • 7+ years of business banking, commercial banking, Treasury Management sales, commercial deposit sales, or commercial relationship management experience.
  • Demonstrated success acquiring new business relationships and achieving commercial deposit growth goals.
  • Experience working with Municipal amp; Public Funds, public entities, nonprofit organizations, and Treasury Management solutions preferred.

Certifications

  • Must have a valid Florida driver’s license and pass a background check.

Skills and Attributes

  • Ability to analyze member needs and develop comprehensive financial solutions utilizing commercial deposits, Treasury Management, Commercial Lending, and other business banking product.
