High-voltage lines are being planned, permitted andconstructed to support grid modernization, electrification and the energytransition. BBA's Transmission group is at the centre of this surge, deliveringcomplex, multi-phase projects across Canada and internationally.

Our multidisciplinary teams span Canada, from St. John'sto Vancouver, bringing together engineers and technicians across offices. We'regrowing rapidly and seeking seasoned engineers who can deliver projectexcellence and build strong client relationships.

As a Senior or Principal Engineer - Transmission Lines,you'll lead technical work and projects across the full project life cycle,supporting HVAC and HVDC projects from early development and interconnectionthrough to detailed engineering and construction. You'll work closely withplanning and studies teams, serve as a trusted advisor to clients, mentortechnical teams, oversee project delivery and strengthen long-term clientrelationships across markets.

  • Perform detailed design of overhead transmission lines (25 kV to 765 kV), including conductor selection, structure spotting and optimization, sag-and-tension analysis and electrical clearance verification
  • Design support structures and foundations (steel, lattice, wood, concrete and composite materials), in accordance with CSA and IEEE standards
  • Model transmission systems using PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE and PLS-TOWER
  • Prepare high-quality engineering deliverables, including plan-and-profile drawings, stringing charts, design calculations, technical specifications and construction packages
  • Coordinate with civil, geotechnical, environmental and survey teams across all project phases, from feasibility through commissioning
  • Provide field engineering support during construction, including site inspections, RFI responses and as-built reviews
  • Participate in business development activities: identify opportunities, build client relationships, contribute to go/no-go decisions and support market strategy development
  • Lead or contribute to proposals, qualification packages and fee estimates
  • Develop and maintain trusted client relationships that lead to repeat business
  • Mentor junior engineers and technicians, review deliverables and elevate overall team performance
