Position Overview:

Sagard Private Equity Canada is seeking an Intern to join its team in Montreal or Toronto from May to August 2027. The team partners with Canadian mid-market companies to accelerate their growth and support their development into market leaders.

The Intern will be involved in all stages of the investment process, including sourcing and screening opportunities, conducting due diligence, performing financial analysis, and supporting portfolio monitoring activities. This role provides hands-on exposure to a dynamic private equity environment and the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals on live transactions and strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the sourcing, screening and evaluation of new investment opportunities

  • Assist in the execution of due diligence for prospective investments

  • Contribute to company valuation and investment structuring analysis

  • Build and maintain financial models to support investment decisions

  • Prepare presentations and investment memos for the Investment Committee

  • Support portfolio management activities, including performance tracking and ad hoc analysis

Qualifications:

  • Currently in the second or third year of a Bachelor of Business Administration or a related program

  • Previous internship experience in private equity, venture capital, investment banking or consulting is considered an asset

  • Strong academic performance

  • Excellent analytical, financial modeling and problem-solving skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and a data-driven mindset

  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative and entrepreneurial environment

  • For all positions in Quebec, proficiency in French and English, both spoken and written, is mandatory. English is required due to regular interaction with colleagues and external partners outside Quebec.

Qualifications :

  • Une experience de stage en capital-investissement, capital de risque, banque d'investissement ou conseil est un atout

  • Excellents resultats academiques

  • Solides competences analytiques, en modelisation financiere et en resolution de problemes

  • Excellentes competences en communication, a l'ecrit comme a l'oral

  • Grande attention aux details et approche axee sur les donnees
