Lab Technician Intern

Fall 2026

This position is based in Mansonville, located in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Canada. As such, it is essential that the candidate resides within close proximity to the office.

The intern will be responsible for assisting the members of the quality control team working within the quality control laboratory.


Primary Responsibilities

  • The intern will take part in release testing for ongoing production as well as R&D products, performing routine analyses on expandable polystyrene beads, including styrene and pentane content by GC, molecular weight and coating analysis by HPLC, sieve analysis, moisture, bromine, and graphite content.
  • The intern will participate in the required analyses of raw materials, as well as of densified and recycled polystyrene.
  • The intern will assist in the qualification of new raw materials by participating in polymerization tests carried out in a glass reactor.
  • The intern will take part in the analysis of physical tests performed on foams according to ASTM standards (flexural strength, compression, R‑value, LOI, water absorption, water vapor permeability).
