Job description

As an individual contributor, this role supports and/or leads all aspects of identifying and pursuing prospective client relationships to build and grow new business opportunities beneficial to Assurant Financial Services Business Unit and its financial institution clients. Plans, organizes, and coordinates activities - aligned to an annual plan - that support new client relationships in a manner beneficial to Assurant Financial Services Business Unit and its clients.
What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?
Directly carries out execution of key initiatives to promote YOY revenue growth and engagement with the new clients.
  • Identify new prospects and build a sales pipeline that includes new business opportunities that align with Assurant's products and services.
  • Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
  • Establishes, cultivates and maintains relationships with prospects to grow through new business opportunities by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements to the prospect.
  • Coordinate closely with Account Executives to grow business with existing clients
  • Executes annual business plans and growth strategies to ensure metrics and revenue goals are being met.

Serves as a subject matter expert on Assurant's products and services and articulates business proposition to the "right" prospects at the "right" time.
  • Understanding of company products or services as well as business position and competition to keep business competitive
  • Understands go-to-market models across customer and product line segments

Participates in deal creation to align to the organizational strategy that encompasses cross-functional teams.
  • Presents capabilities to prospective clients; drives efforts to motivate prospects to move to an RFI or RFP, where appropriate.
  • Leads the coordination of gathering and inputting RFI and RFP responses from SMEs and leading timely completion of RFI/RFP requirements
  • Participates in and contributes to the contracting of new clients
  • Participates in and contributes to the installation of new clients

What are the requirements need for this position?
  • BS/BA Degree (Finance, Marketing or Economics) preferred
  • 6+ years business development, sales and/or marketing experience, strongly preferred in a major US based financial institution or Fintech company, or a financial-institution-focused consulting or research firm
  • 5+ years interacting with mid to large clients and developing strategic relationships
  • 5+ years in product development or project management
  • Ability to build competitive intelligence library and prospecting database
  • Able to conduct extensive company research and leverage cold calling and define and deliver across Assurant's line of business opportunities
  • Ability to mobilize resources across matrix structure
  • Ability to perform independently; drive execution
  • Working knowledge of key deal / contract elements
  • Business / financial literacy
  • Effective communication skills (effective pitching to senior leaders)

Pay Range:
$101,500.00 - $169,400.00
Any posted pay range considers a wide range of compensation factors, including candidate background, experience and work location, while also allowing for salary growth within the position.
