Role Summary:
Title: Manager, Corporate Business Development
Department: Corporate Strategy / Business Development
Location: Houston, TX (Corporate Headquarters)
Team Scope: Serve as an internal consultant supporting executive leadership on strategic initiatives, acquisitions, divestitures, commercial growth opportunities, and enterprise-wide business development projects
Primary Focus: Lead the evaluation of new business opportunities, develop financial and commercial analyses, support mergers and acquisitions, and partner with senior leadership to identify strategies that drive long-term growth, profitability, and operational excellence across the organization

Key Responsibilities:
Identify, evaluate, and develop new business opportunities across refining, supply and marketing, trading, terminals and pipelines, and specialty products
Develop financial models, screening analyses, feasibility studies, and sensitivity analyses to support strategic decision making
Lead business valuation efforts for acquisitions, divestitures, assets, and new commercial opportunities
Partner with executive leadership, including the CFO and senior business leaders, to evaluate and execute strategic initiatives
Conduct market research and monitor industry, regulatory, and competitive developments impacting the downstream energy value chain
Build relationships with third parties, strategic partners, and external stakeholders
Analyze, negotiate, and support commercial contracts and strategic agreements
Lead due diligence efforts associated with acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investments
Manage cross-functional project teams and coordinate activities across Finance, Commercial, Operations, Legal, and outside consultants
Evaluate emerging technologies and commercial growth opportunities that support long-term business objectives
Function as an internal consultant by providing financial, operational, and strategic analysis to senior management
Present findings and recommendations to executive leadership to facilitate informed business decisions
Support benchmarking initiatives and enterprise-wide strategic planning activities

Ideal Candidate Profile:
Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree (MBA preferred)
8+ years of relevant business development, corporate strategy, consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, or energy industry experience
Strong understanding of downstream refining operations and energy markets preferred
Experience with mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic investment analysis
Advanced financial modeling, business valuation, and sensitivity analysis skills
Strong understanding of market research and commercial business development
Experience evaluating complex business opportunities and investment decisions
Demonstrated ability to manage cross-functional projects and multiple stakeholders
Strong business acumen with an entrepreneurial mindset
