Overview

Position Summary

As a Business Development Account Manager at MasTec Energy Solutions, you will play a critical role in driving strategic growth and expanding our presence across electric distribution, gas distribution, transmission, and substation construction markets. This position is responsible for developing and managing key client relationships with investor-owned utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and mission-critical infrastructure clients.

You will serve as a trusted advisor to customers—aligning their current and future needs with MasTec’s capabilities—while identifying, shaping, and capturing new business opportunities. The role requires proactive engagement in market development, strategic account planning, and cross-functional collaboration with operations, estimating, and leadership teams to deliver tailored, value-driven solutions.

Success in this role demands a strong understanding of utility markets, a forward-looking view of industry trends, and the ability to translate insights into actionable growth strategies that strengthen client partnerships and drive long-term revenue.

Responsibilities

Relationship Building & Client Engagement:

  • Develop and nurture long-term relationships with decision-makers, procurement teams, and infl­uencers within client organizations.
  • Regularly communicate with clients to understand their evolving needs, challenges, and opportunities.

Business Development & Sales Strategy:

  • Stay informed on industry developments, market conditions, and competitors to proactively address client needs and position our company as a leader in the industry.
  • Participate in industry events, trade shows, and conferences to build industry relationships and gather market intelligence.

Proposal Development & Negotiation:

  • Work closely with the procurement teams to ensure timely and accurate preparation of bids, proposals, and contracts.
  • Lead the negotiation process, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements for both the company and the client.

Client Account Management & Reporting:

  • Manage day-to-day client interactions, providing regular updates on project status, issues, and key developments.
  • Track and report on sales metrics, client feedback, and market conditions to senior leadership for continuous improvement and strategic planning.
