Job description

Job Description:

Saab, Inc. is seeking a Capture Director to lead a small team of Marketing and Sales professionals responsible for the profitable growth of the Land Systems division's U.S. Training and Simulation (T&S) business.

This person will develop and implement a successful new business growth strategy utilizing existing and new products to support long-term business objectives. Responsibilities will include functional management of the T&S Marketing and Sales staff; identification, qualification, and pursuit of significant new business opportunities; developing and executing quality campaign and capture strategies; creation of strategic industry partnerships and interfacing across disciplines and departments to achieve business objectives. The successful candidate will have demonstrated capture experience with knowledge of current and future T&S domain requirements. The position requires the ability to coach and manage a small team of experienced professionals in a complex environment.

This position will be located in Saab's Orlando, FL location, and includes customer and partner responsibilities that span the U.S. It will require 20-40% travel, including international- primarily to locations in Sweden.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Lead and mentor a small team of capture management professionals in a results-driven organization.

  • Collaborate closely with Land Systems leadership and Saab, Inc.'s corporate Strategy and Business Development team to position Saab's Training and Simulation business for growth with future core programs, new technologies, new products, and new business models.

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including DoW officials, military branches, government agencies, and T&S customers.

  • Identify and qualify potential opportunities and drive the campaign & capture process from opportunity identification to proposal submission. This includes cross-functional collaboration with business leadership, technical experts, proposal teams, and finance partners to develop winning proposals.

  • Maintain and grow existing customer relationships with the customer community.

Compensation Range: $215,400 - $290,800

The compensation range provided is a general guideline. When extending an offer, Saab, Inc. considers factors including (but not limited to) the role and associated responsibilities, location, and market and business considerations, as well as the candidate's work experience, key skills, and education/training.

Skills and Experience:

Required Education, Experience and Skills:

  • BS Degree in business or related engineering discipline.

  • Minimum of 10+ years relevant experience in Aerospace and Defense environment, in Program Management, Business Capture, Business Development, or Marketing and Sales. Industry experience is highly preferred.

  • 5+ years of directly or indirectly leading organizations.

  • Demonstrated track record leading aerospace and/or defense business capture efforts.

  • Experience successfully negotiating multi-million dollar agreements with large Aerospace and Defense customers.

  • Knowledge of the capture/business strategy and the US Training and Simulation stakeholder environment.

  • Knowledge of the DoW acquisition process, and government procurement policies and procedures.

  • Knowledge of the US government budget process to skillfully navigate detailed defense budgets.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead strategic initiatives in support of functional and business objectives

  • Outstanding communication and presentation skills.

  • Capable of obtaining a Secret level clearance.
