Shift: Monday-Friday 8-5

SUMMARY

The Brokerage Supervisor manages the daily transportation operations within their division. They ensure daily available truck capacity to ensure excellence in service to our customers while maintaining expected margins. The Supervisor assists their leadership with development and planning for strategic growth of the department and customer. The Supervisor is accountable for performing his/her duties consistent with the values and mission of the corporation.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Implement strategic policies to drive profitable growth in order to deliver company and customers goals.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with Saddle Creek customers and approved carriers/vendors.

  • Negotiate rates with carriers and customers in the spot market as needed.

  • Must become a proficient user of the SCTS TMS and other related systems and drive efficiencies through systemic improvements.

  • Assist with administrative duties to ensure customer requirements are met.

  • Work diligently with various Saddle Creek Corporation and Saddle Creek Transportation associates to deliver near flawless execution to our customer base.

  • Arrange loads for dispatch and make necessary system updates in accordance with departmental policies.

  • Ensure the accurate and timely preparation, processing, distribution and retention of all necessary reports and records regarding transportation operations.

  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.

  • Other duties may be assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • High School Diploma/ GED Required.

  • Bachelor's degree preferred.

  • At least two (2) years of related experience and/or training in Transportation/Logistics

  • Freight Brokerage Experience Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Ability to function in a high-stress, fast paced environment

  • Ability to build credible relationships with all levels of SCLS associates and management, as well as external vendors and customers

  • Working proficiency with MercuryGate TMS strongly preferred

  • Proficiency (intermediate or higher) in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) a must

  • Ability to set priorities, plan, organize, and manage multiple projects

  • Proven record of meeting goals and objectives working both individually and as part of a team

  • Ability to evaluate alternatives in order to make the best overall value decisions considering customer requirements, regulations, cost, and other factors

  • Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills
