We are looking for a Network & Storage Administrator in Irvine, CA to be a critical driver of our enterprise data center migration programs. You are a "builder" who is equally comfortable in the technical weeds of a server rack as you are coordinating complex connectivity strategies with client stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Migration Discovery: Participate in physical site surveys to assess existing networking, storage, and server layouts. You'll document everything from rack elevations to complex network topologies to ensure a seamless transition.
  • Execute Infrastructure Moves: Provide hands-on support during migration windows. You'll be the "boots on the ground" overseeing equipment relocation, rack-and-stack installations, and ensuring cabling meets enterprise standards.
  • Architect Connectivity: Support and validate inter-data center connectivity, including WAN/MPLS, Layer 2 extensions, and hybrid VPN setups to ensure seamless communication between source and target sites.
  • Security Coordination: Work directly with client security teams to implement and validate firewall rule updates, verifying that application flows remain secure and functional post-migration.
  • Own Storage Reliability: Validate SAN/NAS connectivity and support Fibre Channel/iSCSI configurations. You'll ensure storage paths and performance are stable after the physical move.
  • Solve the Unsolvable: Act as a point of escalation for connectivity or latency issues, troubleshooting complex migration challenges in real-time to ensure project success.

Requirements
  • Professional Experience: 5-10+ years of enterprise Data Center infrastructure experience, specifically having navigated the complexities of large-scale migration projects.
  • Associate's degree or Bachelor's degree in Information technology
  • Networking Mastery: Deep knowledge of switching and routing (L2/L3), BGP, OSPF, and Data Center Interconnect (DCI) architectures.
  • Hands-on Hardware Expertise: Proven experience with rack-and-stack deployment, structured cabling, and physical infrastructure relocation.
  • Storage Proficiency: Experience with enterprise SAN/NAS environments, including zoning, masking, and multipath configurations.
  • The "Builder" Mindset: A strategic approach to problem-solving, a startup mentality, and the flexibility to work onsite during migration windows, including evenings or weekends.
  • Communication: Exceptional skills in collaborating with client teams and translating technical hurdles into clear status updates.

Bonus Points (Nice-to-Haves)
  • Certifications: CCNP or CCIE (Cisco Certified Network Professional/Expert).
  • Platform Knowledge: Experience with Cisco Nexus, Arista, or enterprise-grade switching platforms.
  • Hybrid Cloud: Experience supporting connectivity between on-premise data centers and AWS environments.
