Compensation at a Glance

  • Annual Base Salary: $70,304 - $90,000
  • Annual Bonus Potential: up to 25% of base salary
  • Total Compensation Potential: $87,000 - $112,000*

*Bonus tied to defined performance metrics and is not guaranteed.

Position Summary 

As a General Manager at a Karl Strauss Brewing Company, you lead the team, own the results, and set the standard for hospitality, culture, and performance. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who knows how to balance great beer, great food, and great people, while delivering strong financial results. This role requires strong operational expertise, sound independent judgment, and a commitment to developing a high-performing team.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead, hire, train, coach, and develop management and hourly teams while fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing culture. 
  • Deliver exceptional guest experiences by setting hospitality standards and driving repeat business. 
  • Oversee daily brewpub operations, including company systems, policies, safety programs, and compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Manage facility maintenance, vendor relationships, and operational audits to ensure a safe, efficient, and well-maintained environment. 
  • Own the P&L and drive financial performance through budgeting, labor management, cost controls, payroll oversight, cash handling, and financial reporting. 
  • Partner with Human Resources and Brewpub Operations on company initiatives, compliance, employee relations, and performance management.
  • 5+ years of brewpub or restaurant leadership experience within a full service, high volume environment.  
  • Strong financial acumen and comfort in owning results.
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications. Experience with TOAST POS system preferred.
