Job description

We are looking for an Assistant Property Manager to join our Team!

Primary Role:

Responsible for maintaining the financial records and assisting with all accounting functions for the property on a timely basis.

Relationships:

  • Reports to: Property Manager
  • Maintains relationships with: Current and prospective residents, and other staff members

Responsibilities:

The activities listed below are not all inclusive, however, they are indicative of the types of activities normally performed in this position.

· General duties:

o Answers the telephone courteously.

o Communicates with residents regarding accounts receivables.

o Assists in collection of rents and other monies due.

o Maintains accounting files.

o Assists with any legal proceedings instituted by property management.

o Complies with payroll procedures.

o Assists in marketing and leasing efforts.

o Assists in participation of weekly/monthly reports.

o Maintains knowledge of local, state and federal laws governing tenant/landlord relations.

o Maintains detailed comprehension of the lease/rental agreement.

· Specific duties:

o Maintains Monthly Rent Roll.

o Posts rents.

o Posts all miscellaneous income.

o Maintains daily receipts journal.

o Makes daily deposits.

o Prepares cash receipts journal

o Maintains delinquency report.

o Prepares and sends late rent reminder notices.

o Prepares and sends notices of dishonored checks.

o Follows all legal guidelines pertaining to rent collection.

o Learns and uses appropriate software packages.
