Bookkeeper Job Description
Overview
The company is engaged in building construction and building restoration. The companys current bookkeeper is leaving to pursue other opportunities. The company is seeking a new full-charge bookkeeper who will perform all daily, weekly, and monthly accounting activities. The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in the basic functions of accounting: Journal entries, cash receipts, cash disbursements, payroll, and local tax and licensing submissions. This person will operate out of the Reno office, and report directly to the company owner, Lonnie Fixel. We are looking for an experienced bookkeeper who can work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities
Accounting
Highly experienced in QuickBooks Online software
Perform payroll runs biweekly
AP Data entry
Recognizing and responding to requests from other departments within the company
File state and local tax and licensing returns
Monitor bank accounts and reconcile daily and statements monthly.
Monitor Credit card accounts daily and reconcile monthly.
AR Data entry and collections
Maintain financial records, securing all sensitive information
Assist with A/R as needed
Human Resources and Payroll
Perform biweekly payroll submissions (through QuickBooks or equivalent)
Calculate and submit payment of payroll liabilities (through QuickBooks or equivalent)
Maintain employee records including new hire paperwork, background checks, benefit, and other documents
Submit workers compensation filings and annual audit documentation
Contribute to special projects as needed
Licensing, Insurance and Certifications
Complete all business and trade licensing submissions
Maintain trade and insurance program certifications and documentation
Skills and Education
2-year college degree (preferred) with a focus on accounting
3-5 years of bookkeeping experience
Construction industry and construction job costing experience preferred
Familiarity with GAP accounting principles
Supervisory experience a plus
Expertise in working with QuickBooks and Excel a must, proficient in working with other Microsoft Office programs, ability to learn trade specific software including but not limited to Coit order entry, XactAnalysis and Proven Jobs Restoration Software
