Description

The Book Production Administrative Assistant will accurately and effectively perform a variety of administrative, production and miscellaneous responsibilities pertaining to the production of braille book publication from start to finish.


Essential Duties:

ย Reflects Clovernook's mission, vision and core values in daily interactions with ย consumers, staff, as well as all internal and external constituencies.

ย Shares agency news for everyone without email.

ย Enter new books into scheduling software.

ย Enter book production status information into Clovernook scheduling software.

ย Enter book production status information into NLS MediaPulse software.

ย Print and distribute updated book schedules.

ย Maintains book warranty replacement report.

ย Order book division raw materials and general office supplies.

ย Maintain book division raw material inventory.

ย ย Create all shipping labels and packing slips for NLS books.

ย Emboss, perform OBR (Optical Braille Recognition) comparison, and prepare regular ย book control copies for shipment to NLS Quality Assurance.

ย Emboss regular book production volumes.

ย Rivet books into hard covers.

ย Remove pages from covers of print books for Print/Braille books and cut to size.

ย Emboss print/braille plastic pages.

ย Collate print and braille pages for print/braille books.

ย Drill rivet holes for print/braille book covers.

ย Cut labels and materials as needed on industrial cutter.

ย Follow all safety procedures and promote a safe work environment.

ย Maintain positive relationships with co-workers and supervisors.

ย Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Job Requirements:

1. HS Diploma or GED.

2. Proficient P/C skills (MS Word, Excel, etc).

3. Ability to learn basic braille words and numbers a must.

4. Must have a good command of the English language.

5. Strong reading & writing skills.

6. Ability to lift 25 lbs.ย 

7. Must be detail oriented.

8. Basic math skills and ability to read labels, packing slips, cartons, etc.

9. Post-offer, pre-employment drug screening, and criminal background check.
