Job Summary

The Material Cost Book Coordinator will support multiple automotive programs by managing material cost books, validating Bills of Materials (BOM), and ensuring accurate Total Product Cost (TPC) reporting. This role partners closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Cost Engineering teams to deliver timely and data-driven cost analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop, maintain, and update Material Cost Books for multiple automotive projects

  • Validate Bill of Materials (BOM) accuracy in collaboration with Engineering teams

  • Coordinate with Cost Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing to ensure current cost data

  • Analyze variable costs, tooling costs, and multi-commodity costing

  • Track, analyze, and present Total Product Cost (TPC) and month-over-month cost changes

  • Support project management activities including planning, prioritization, and reporting

  • Ensure compliance with automotive development and production processes

Required Technical Skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel (cost models, analysis, reporting)

  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

  • Experience with automotive cost analysis and cost modeling

  • Multi-commodity costing (casting, stamping, injection molding preferred)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)

  • Ability to manage multiple programs and deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Mandatory Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Mathematics, or related field

  • Experience in design, release, processing, or cost engineering roles

  • Proven experience developing variable and tooling costs for automotive components

  • Strong knowledge of automotive manufacturing methods and vehicle development processes

  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and prioritization skills

  • Ability to work effectively in a global, cross-functional team environment

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Proficiency in NX and Teamcenter

  • Experience with activity-based costing (ABC)

  • Should-cost / cost reduction experience

  • Background with automotive OEMs or Tier 1 / Tier 2 suppliers

  • Advanced degree in Business or Engineering
