Job description

PL Developments, also known as PLD, is a leading manufacturer, packager, and distributor of over-the-counter (OTC) pharmaceutical products and consumer healthcare goods .
SUMMARY:
The Line Material Handler is responsible for ensuring the continuous and efficient operation of Blister packaging lines by delivering and stocking components according to production schedules and company procedures.
Working Schedule: Monday – Thursday 7:00 AM to 5:30 PM
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Basic math skills
  • Must be able to follow written instructions
  • Ability to work well with others
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Responsible for adhering to company rules and directions given by the Line Leader or Backup Leader
  • Using a hand jack that brings scheduled components to the line and stocks components to be used according to the lowest lot number first
  • Keeps all machinery inside of the filling room of the blister lines fed with components to maintain the line running efficiently
  • Reviews packaging specifications and pick slip during start-up to assure product is being packaged as specified
  • Responsible for the proper operation of machines in their zone and assures machines are producing a quality product free of defects
  • Communicates to Line Leaders and/or Backup Line Leader any issues pertaining to the quality of the product, safety concerns and machinery malfunctions
  • Fosters a teamwork environment by supporting and respecting peers
  • Assists in monitoring and training new employees for On The Job Training (OJT)
  • Ensures the line is always well maintained, clean and clutter-free throughout the day
  • Responsible for cleaning up zone area first during changeovers and upon completion assists fellow coworkers with their zones in order to expedite the changeover
  • Counts returns and rejects by weight or physical count and enters them into the batch record
  • Delivers returns to the reconciliation area and places components in the specified area
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, walking, pushing and pulling, stooping and crouching and climbing. Occasional lifting of equipment or materials weighing up to 75 pounds. Incumbents may be exposed to hazardous materials, gases, electrical components, and equipment. Safety protocols and protective gear are provided.
Hourly Rate starting at $18.00/hr
