Job Shift: Days
Job Type: Full Time
Assists in managing the Biomedical Engineering department including maintenance, service, upkeep, repair, testing and preventative maintenance of Hospital biomedical equipment, along with required documentation to ensure compliance for State and Joint Commision inspections. Performs additional duties as requested by Plant Operations management team or Senior Management.
Responsibilities
1. Reports for scheduled shift on time and prepared to assume responsibilities.
2. Attends and participates in meetings and is responsible for all information communicated at meetings.
3. Adheres to Corporate, Regional, hospital and departmental policy and procedure 100% of the time.
4. Assists all patients, family members, physicians, visitors and employees in a professional and courteous manner.
5. Follows Infection Control procedures at all times.
6. Adheres to the following environment of care standards.
7. Demonstrates the ability to adapt to varied age-specific patient populations.
Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Minimum: Associate's Degree or equivalent work experience
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree
EXPERIENCE:
Four (4) to six (6) years' experience as a Biomedical Engineer. Prior experience in a healthcare setting.
REQUIRED CERTIFICATION/LICENSURE/REGISTRATION:
None required.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
Expertise in Electronic Engineering. Supervisory experience preferred.

About the Team
Delray Medical Center, part of the Palm Beach Health Network, is a 536-bed acute care hospital spanning 30 acres, employing over 1,700 employees, 700 physicians and serving southern Palm Beach County for over 40 years. As both a community hospital and state-designated Level I Trauma Center, Delray Medical Center offers several specialized services including advanced cardiac and vascular facilities, orthopedics, neurosciences, emergency care and weight-loss surgery.
