Job description

We are seeking a bookkeeper/office manager to join our Melville CPA Firm. This role will be an in-office position that will support our daily operations and ensure the smooth functioning of our office. The ideal candidate will possess strong bookkeeping and administrative skills to assist our professional staff with clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the office.
  • Demonstrate strong phone etiquette while answering and directing client calls.
  • Provide administrative tasks such as receiving mail and scanning documents.
  • Maintain a high volume of emails and coordinate meetings on a calendar.
  • Perform accounting and bookkeeping data entry in QuickBooks and Bill.com.
  • Prepare bank and credit card reconciliations.
  • Pay client bills via check as well as manage the Bill.com online bill pay system.
  • Assist with payroll, sales tax and other filings.


Skills:

  • A minumum of 5 years previous experience in Bookkeeping / Accounting
  • Previous experience working at a CPA firm is preferred
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
  • Must have working knowledge of QuickBooks Online and desktop
