Position Description: Behavior Interventionist
Location: The Palmer School
Salary and terms of Employment:
10-Month Position
Daily Schedule: M-F 7:00 -2:00 PM (up to 32.50 hours)
Schedule includes a 30-minute unpaid, duty-free lunch
Salary - $20.18 per hour
Reports to Building Principal with daily direction from a special education teacher, case manager, and /or BCBA
Description:
  • Works collaboratively to provide targeted behavioral support and intervention for students with identified behavioral needs.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Associate's degree or higher is desirable
  • Previous experience working with children is desirable
  • Experience working with students with behavioral challenges in an educational setting, ideally within special education is desirable.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build supportive relationships with students.
  • Patience, compassion, consistency, and adaptability to meet students' behavioral needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to learn and implement behavior intervention techniques.
