Description
General Job Description:
Own the fundraising strategy, cultivate major donor relationships, expand our community footprint, and seamlessly integrate the foundation's mission into the broader digital and operational ecosystem of iTHINK Financial. Manage Foundation events and manage/promote its brand in our communities.
Major Duties & Responsibilities:
  1. Fundraising & Corporate Development:
  • Develop long-term fundraising strategy including a plan for grant and endowment components. Execute the multi-year strategic plan, focusing on capacity building, major gifts, and establishing a permanent endowment.
  • Secure multi-year financial commitments from the existing vendor network and regional corporate partners.
  • Launch and manage a formal major gifts pipeline, culminating in the rollout of a planned giving program for long-term sustainability.
  • Manage Foundation budget and manage expenditures.

2. Community Impact:
  • Develop Community Marketing plan
  • Standardize, scale, and manage existing foundation events-including the 5K for Our Community, Building Up, Jingle Bells at the Branches, and School Ready Days.
  • Manage and scale all scholarship programs, ensuring an exceptional experience for recipients and donors.
  • Develop Community Impact report

3. Digital Strategy and Donor Engagement:
  • Develop Donor Engagement Plan
  • Oversee the selection and deployment of a dedicated non-profit CRM to modernize donor tracking, communication, and retention strategies.
  • Maximize CRM platform capabilities to ensure regular communication with all stakeholders.

4. Manage staff, including coaching and development.
5. Understand and describe the purpose of the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Anti Money Laundering, and Office of Foreign Asset Control policy (OFAC). Identify the BSA Administrator and responsibilities. Complete annual BSA training. Know where to find the BSA policies, procedures, and forms.
6. Responsible for processing member information and transactions consistent with BSA policy and procedures. Understand the regulatory requirements and the internal BSA/AML policies, procedures, and processes. Understand and describe; Suspicious Activity Report (SAR), Currency Transaction Report (CTR), Customer Due Diligence policy (CDD), and Office of Foreign Asset Control policy (OFAC). Complete and file appropriate forms in a timely manner; Suspicious Activity Report, Currency Transaction Report, Document CRM consistently as directed by operational procedures.
7. Responsible for understanding and complying with the iTHINK Financial Cybersecurity Phishing Standards and Guidelines for the safety and soundness of the Credit Union. Complete on-going training as assigned to stay current with latest trends. Know where to find the Cybersecurity policies and procedures.
Competencies, knowledge, skill, and ability required:
  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all stakeholders from board of directors to front line staff
  • Entrepreneurial mindset
  • Ability to structure high impact, value-oriented sponsorships
  • Thorough understanding of 501(c)(3) compliance, fiduciary duties, endowment policies, and conflict of interest regulations
  • Ability to develop long-term plans aligned with organizational goals.
  • Ability to identify, cultivate and close donations for $50,000+ including planned giving
  • Ability to draft grant proposals and provide funders impact reports
  • Ability to serve as the face of the foundation at major events
  • Understanding revenue forecasting, KPIs, and financial performance.
  • Working knowledge of laws and regulations affecting CU products and services.
  • Thorough knowledge of organization's policies/procedures and service philosophy.
  • Thorough knowledge of BSA Policy and Procedures
  • Ability to understand complex written and oral instructions, functions and procedures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work under pressure.

  • Donors are engaged
  • Endowment is established and funded
  • All work performed conforms to Credit Union practical guidelines and standards.

Education and Experience
Job requires a four-year college level of language, math and reasoning skills and three or more years of experience in foundation operations or management, or an equivalent combination of education and/or work experience. Experience working with endowments and writing grants is required. Formal position training should be supplemented with continuing education. This is an exempt position.

Work creates moderate stress during certain periods during daily routine. Job does not have specific volume and pace of work standards except that the job requires that members be served in the timeliest manner possible. Job requires extensive member contact on a continual basis.
